Description - The Molecular Devices SpectraMax 384 Plus is a UV/Vis spectrophotometer/microplate reader with built-in cuvette port and microplate drawer.  The instruments reads any standard cuvette, microcuvette, test tube or 96 and 384-well standard or UV transparent microplate over full 190-1000 nm wavelength range.  This 384 Plus comes from a long history of reliable tools built by Molecular Devices.  This robust system is capable of reading 96 or 384 wells, each with its own sample beam and reference detector.

Nine channel system (8 for the microplate; 1 for the cuvette port) consists of sample beams and reference beams that mimics a dual beam spectrophotometer.

Path Check sensor eliminates optical pathlength as a factor (and corrects pipetting variation), closing the gap between microplate readers and spectrophotometers; measures liquid depth and liquid volumes down to 5µl in each microplate well and scales the microplate data to standard 1 cm cuvette values.  Monochromator selects wavelengths in 1nm increments, system is equipped with built-in programmable linear and orbital plate shaking device.
